Next Sunday, January 8th, the beach of “Las Canteras” will become a sport meeting point and an act of solidarity by the hand of the project “UP2U Depende de Tí”, and by means of contribute the integration in society of young people, in this case, through sport activity.
The forum has counted with the presence of national and international outstanding figures in the area of child-care and it forms part under the motto #UP2Project in Canary. It is led by the Magistrate of Juvenile Court of Las Palmas, Reyes Martel.
The forum, that will take place until the next Tuesday, 22th November, is the starting point of a new pilot project that it sets in motion under the motto of “#Up2U: Depende de tí” in Canary. It is led by the Magistrate of Juvenile Court of Las Palmas, Reyes MarteEl Foro.
The social project “#Up2U: Depende de tí” lead by the Magistrate of the Juvenile Court Nº 1 of Las Palmas, has raised 185.000€ in donations. Canary companies and foundations have involved in this innovative project.
The basketball team “Gran Canaria” will give social, sport and educational workshops for the program “Deport Vida” this year. These workshops will be part of the social project for young people “UP2U: Depende de tí” promoted by the Magistrate of Juvenile Court of Las Palmas, Reyes Martel.
The sport entity, that Miguel Ángel Ramírez presides over, collaborates in this project with the celebration of social and sports workshops for young people with judicial problems sent by the General Director of Infancy Protection and Family of the Canary Government.
The “Alfredo Kraus” auditorium of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will receive the First International Forum for Social Inclusion of young people in which, have taken part the Children’s Authority Act and the Family of Canary Government, and The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The main element of The Millenium Development Goals, agreed by 193 Member States of United Nation on September, was combat poverty in all its shapes and everywhere until 2030. Poor people could improve their lives faster in the next 15 years, than in any other moment of the history.
he 30% of the children of Canary are at risk of social exclusion, which means 140.000 children from 400.000 of the total in the islands. For the president of “UNICEF Comité Español”, Carmelo Angulo, it has to be a source for concern.
Video of the program “Barrios Orquestados”, it is a social project with pedagogical character and artistic aims. The project pretends to create bowed string orchestra (violins, violas, cellos, double basses) in all peripheral neighbourhoods of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, that have special needs in the social and cultural fields.
